Approaching The Ridiculous Limit

Image of Renton
I'm trying to get new pictures of my library, but apparently throwing your phone to your son while driving by the construction site is not an ideal photographic opportunity. Just look at that picture on the left but take out all the walls and that's what things look like right now.

Luckily they will happily send my holds to my back-up library, so that's where I hied off to this afternoon.

Last night I checked my hold page and I had about three books ready. A little much, but nothing I can't handle. Then I got to the library, found my shelf, and:

BoxersCaptain MarvelDelilah Dirk and the Turkish LieutenantDrink, Slay, LoveGrowing up Brave

The InvasionSaintsThe Shadow ThroneTouch Blue

It's even worse than that, because the library doesn't have pictures for Mrs Pollifax Pursued or Clean Sweep. So, eleven new books. Oops.

I had just decided that I should try to start as many library books this week as I checked out, and was feeling all virtuous, but I don't think that's going to work well for me unless I can stuff four more days into the week.

Anyway, it's a bunch of Cybils Finalists, a Connecticut setting (Drink, Slay, Love) recommended by someone who actually commented on this blog, a book by the author who wrote a book recommended to me for adolescent anxiety, the Sword & Laser Kids August pick, The Shadow Throne because my son asked if Nielsen had ever gotten around to finishing her trilogy, and Touch Blue from my TBR list.

Oh, Clean Sweep because I like Ilona Andrews books and Mrs Pollifax Pursued because I am marching myself through the entire series.

On the side of sanity, I didn't get any new digital books out. On the other hand, I ordered two books from Barnes and Noble, but they haven't arrived yet so they don't count.

I had been thinking it was time to look at some of my personal stash of unread books, but I think I'd better concentrate on books with a bar code and a due date this week:

Friday: Concealed in Death (NOOK)
Saturday: Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo (school book club rec)
Sunday: The Marriage Bureau For Rich People (book club book)
Monday: Serafina's Promise (Cybils finalist)
Tuesday: Bad Machinery (Cybils finalist)
Wednesday: The Fault in Our Stars (school book club rec)
Thursday: Breakfast on Mars (Cybils finalist)

badge-4So I currently have 40 books out on my library card, which is a lot. But less than my age, so I get to buy a book :-)

I'll go sign in to Library Loot which is at The Captive Reader this week to see what everyone else is getting.  Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Linda from Silly Little Mischief that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week.

40! I don't think our library allows one person to check put so many books. Enjoy!

Our library limit is 100 books, plus 20 ebooks. Please don't ask me how I know that!

Lucky girl! Ours is 50 + 10 ebooks + 50 holds, and I have maxed all three out at times...
