Mostly Cosy Books

Here is my weekly check-in, using the meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.  Also, at Teach Mentor Texts they do another roundup that concentrates on children's books, which comprise most of my reading this week.

This week I finished one book on my NOOK, two books from my TBR list, a Cybils book, the school book club choice, and a new Patricia Briggs book to make me happy after all the rereading last week. My kids and I are frittering away our evening reading times watching Crashcourse videos on youtube, so no picture books.

I'm showing eleven books on my currently reading list, which means I'm slipping a bit. Although my nonfiction ratio is still poor, I've got some historical fiction in there, which is close.

• Vampire Academy, Richelle Mead. I found it! Maybe I'll get to read some this time.
• The Eyeball Collector, F.E. Higgins. (RML). I like sharing the riddles with my son.
• Northward to the Moon, Polly Horvath (RML). Eccentric family on the road.
• Angelfall, Susan Ee. NOOK. (Cybils) We have met some angels.
• Angels of Darkness. NOOK. Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, and Sharon Stone. And Meljean Brooks, whose story I'm reading now.
• Smart But Scattered, Peg Dawson & Richard Guare.  How to pinpoint a problem and set up an action plan.
• The Same Stuff as Stars, Katherine Paterson. Adults are untrustworthy.
• The First Men In the Moon, H.G. Wells.  Airheaded scientist may have talked too much.
• Honored Enemy, Raymond Feist & William R Forstchen. 
• Knight of a Trillion Stars, Dara Joy. Defeated by a hair dryer.
• The Catholic Church in the Modern World, E.E.Y. Hales. Napoleon was not good for the Church.

What will I read next? Misfits come due soon, so I'd better get on that. School of Fear is in my reading bag. I'm falling behind on my book-a-week goal for Reading My Library, so I'd better get cracking on that.

6. Reading My Library: Looking forward to the Ibbotson and Diane Wynne Jones books.
7. Eclectic Challenge: 3/10. Well, 5, but I need to review them.
